I am working on my husbands visa, and he needs a passport from Mexico to travel to the US..I thought without the visa he couldnt get a passport..I am confused can anyone help me.
To travel from Mexico to U.S.A, the first that your husband needs is to get a passport, go to http://www.sre.gob.mx/pasaportes/ for more information about how to getting a passport.
The cost is 30 US Dollars per year
Next, once you have the passport you have to call to the American embassy and ask for an appointment, go to http://www.usembassy-mexico.gov/smxvisitar.html, you must call 01-900-849-4949, this call is charged to your phone bill.
When you get the appointment, you must pay $100 US Dollars not refunded if you get or not the visa.
Is a long way to get the visa 3 to 6 months..

The WHO states that "WHO is not recommending travel restrictions related to the outbreak of the influenza A(H1N1) virus. Today, international travel moves rapidly, with large numbers of individuals visiting various parts of the world. Limiting travel and imposing travel restrictions would have very little effect on stopping the virus from spreading, but would be highly disruptive to the global community. "
AND yet the FCO are advising all but essential travel to Mexico .
It doesn't make sence as im sure the FCO take there information from the WHO!
The remit of the two organisations is subtly difference. The World Health Organisation is responsible for health strategy and policy within the UN. The FCO is responsible the interests of the UK and its citizens.
Additionally, the two organisations being different, they will have their own perspective on the situation.
This will occasionally result in the conclusions and advice given being different. You need to listen to the advice of the FCO for insurance purposes - your insurance company will not pay out if you are travelling contradictory to FCO advice.

My boyfriend is traveling to Guadalajara, Mexico next Wednesday-Saturday for a work event and will be staying at an all inclusive resort but I am wondering how safe it really is. I am a bit on the paranoid side sometimes but I have heard many things about drug wars going on down there and now the outbreak of the swine flu. How safe is it to be traveling to mexico at this time? Any suggestions on precautions that should be taken?
People are exaggerating. Like the US or any other place, you must know where to travel to. Don't go to Chihuahua for example, or any boarder country, go to Acapulco, Cuernabaca, or one of the nicest places Mexico City. In fact, the most dangerous country in Mexico is Chihuahua, and Detroit is 10 times more dangerous that Chihuahua. Go to Mexico City, Guadalajara, or any of those places. Its great/
