Has anyone stayed at El Cid El Moro Beach hotel? We booked a 2 bedroom 3 bathroom condo/villa for a week. Is the hotel up to date? How are the condos set up? How is the night life in and around the area of the resort? are there any malls/duty free shopping? Where can we find an affordable fishing charter? where are the good spas restaurants and clubs? are the Deer, stone and bird islands worth visiting?

ummm nope i usually stay with family over there but the night life is great they have a nice club that looks like a castle its called el valentine it always has a good amount of people always packed during spring break mazatlan has the biggest natural bord walk and theres always something to do there the beaches are Beautiful. for shopping i would go to el cenrto always see tourist there. for stone island or "isla de la perda" i dont go there for the wild life but the beach is nice there fun with the bananas (youll see wat i mean) and the fresh sea food is amazing you can also rent atvs and just go riding around the community there. now for fishing if you guys just wana catch something and have a good time and a good meal i recommend the bibi fleet in marina mazatlan its not too pricey but i dont look like a tourist so the price may change but it should be about150 for 5 hours good sight seeing good fishing try to haggle with the price so you wont get ripped off go to marina mazatlan shop#8 . food is great panama is a good restaurant shouldn’t be hard to find just ask people its popular with the tourist. have fun mazatlan is nice hope you enjoy your self mostly evey thing is on the bord walk the clubs real close

Not any more FDR they are killing people in the streets of Cancun and Mexico city and Kidnapping US citizens.
WIERD suggestion folks how about lake Havasu and the Gulf Coast they need the business.

Most US tourists going to Mexico are retired and go there because they can stretch the dollar. Popular with college kids without brains and horny genital areas, buy cheap alcohol and screw their brains out.

Me and my boyfriend are traveling to mexico next month for his 21st birthday. what are some good all inclusives you would recommend?

We got married at the Barcelo Maya Palace in Riviera Maya Mexico. We took 31 people, including very seasoned travelers and everyone absolutely loved it. It was our 2nd trip to the Barcelo and both trips were awesome. Great pools, awesome beach, huge property. Food is not horrible, but not fantastic either — but it’s very palatable. Something like 14 different specialty restaurants (which have better food) and 6 or 7 buffets.

They have all the ocean games and activities — wind surfing, water bikes, scuba.

We love that place.

There are even discounts on pricing.

Go to www.mibarcelo.com
Sign up for an account
Login
Click the "Happy Days" banner advertisement that appears at the top.
Select Mexico
Select Barcelo Maya Palace (the high end of the resort. Top Notch!)
Select your dates

I posted some links to some pics online. If you PM me I’ll send you some other pics of the Barcelo.

Dreams Tulum also gets really good reviews but we’ve never been there.
Iberostar (mentioned above) is also nice but much more crowded and closer to Cancun

Going to cancun next week, Would like to take a tour, any ideas of which one togo to?
would like to see the ruins and snorkel. Up for any suggestions.
Thanks!
We are planning to go to Cozumel also..so any names of a tour place would be great…or has anyone ever took the jeep tour?

Xcaret is a really good day out. You can swim in the underground rivers. So much to see and do. We really enjoyed it and there is a very good show in the evening there which is all included in the price. Dont forget to go in the butterfly place - they are big and beautiful !

Look it up on the net. You wont be dissapointed.

Take the ferry over to Isla Majeurs - hire a "golf Trolley" transport and go around the island.

We really enjoyed quad biking - through "jungle vegetation and out onto a beautiful islocated beach. Great Fun.

Where you can visit the Turtle place. Swim with Dolphins and see iguanas all over the place.

Do the Nighclub trip,(Whatever your age) and try and do one where you end up at Coco Bongos - its a really good evening.

We are a mixture of ages from 25 through to 64!) and we enjoyed everything.

By the way - Take a bus trip down to Asda Wallmart and book your trips in the Kiosk inside the shop - they are much cheaper and the more you book the cheaper they get !

Its the most fantastic holiday we’ve ever done.

I am planning to travel to Mexico with my family, and my child has severe peanut allergies. We still want to go to Mexico, but we don’t know if its safe for my child.
Any one have any insight?
Thanks!
This is pertaining to restaurants. Any one with peanut allergies that went to Mexico have a good and safe restaurant recommendation?
Thanks!
We’re talking Los Cabos here… Just so it makes it easier.

In general Mexico is not very aware of the peanut allergy so you must be very careful when you ask if something has peanuts or has been in contact with peanuts. Actually there are no peanut free schools or things like that. I think that depends on the allergy grade you kid has.
Anyway, if you are going to a Hotel you probably can talk to the chef and make sure the food he is taking is peanuts free but again, if a chefs mistake can be a life risk I would think it twice. Pretty much like in the states.

We recieved unfortunate news that his sister was injured in Iraq and is coming back to the states from Germany after surgery today.
I called the agent who books condos, hotels and beach houses and she told me there is a 10 day cancellation fee.(If i cancelled before the 10day nearing check in, I would simply lose $100 dollars and anything within the 10days of check in I would lose it all)
I called on the 10th day and she basically told me, there was no cancelling now, and that I would lose $600 that was put on my fiances credit card.
She wouldnt let us change the dates or anything. Is there anyway to dispute this fee with my fiances credit card despite the cancellation policy?, I believe he used his USAA card btw and the company is out of Mexico.
* No where in the reservation email, or payment receipt does it state the cancellation policy. I had to call to inquire about it.

You can try to dispute it with your credit card company but you may not win.

Cancelling BEFORE the 10 days means not later than 11 days. Day 10 is within the 10 day period. You called too late. Resort areas are usually booked up in advance for the holidays. The closer to the reserved date you cancel, the less likely they will find someone else to book the place. That is undoubtedly covered in the reservation ageement. You will probably lose the money.

I am planning to travel to Mexico with my family, and my child has severe peanut allergies. We still want to go to Mexico, but we don’t know if its safe for my child.
Any one have any insight?

This is pertaining to restaurants. Any one with peanut allergies that went to Mexico have a good and safe restaurant recommendation?
Thanks!
We’re talking Los Cabos here… Just so you know…

I live in Mexico with a strong peanut and other nut allergy. Ask when you eat, check labels, you will find many in English. The Spanish word for peanuts is "cacahuate". Labels also include the line "puede contener trazsos de …" which means may contain traces of . Be careful with some typical dishes like mole which is a sauce for meat or chicken which has chile peppers, chocolate, and peanuts. My wife and kids love it.

A good question to ask if the people at the restaurant don’t speak much English (in the better restaurants, even in the small towns, someone - if not all generally speaks some English) is ¿Cuales platos no tienen nada de cacahuate? or Which dishes have no peanuts?
