I Love Mexican Vacations

Vacations in Mexico remain one of the best travel deals available.

Have you vacationed in Rocky Point, Mexico?

My boyfirend are planning a trip this August to Rocky Point, Mexico. We will be renting a condo at the resort called "Bella Sirena" (see url) http://ourrockypoint.com/index.php?id=11129

The resort/condo in Rocky Point, Mexico was recommended by a coworker who vacationed there recently. She shared pictures and raved about it…it looked beautiful! As I mentioned she has highly recommended it, said not only was it so beautiful, it was very affordable. She stated the condo was pure luxury and again very afordable.

I would like to find out if anyone has ever been or vacationed in Rocky Point, Mexico? I would love your feedback good and bad…I have never been to Mexico PERIOD, however my boyfriend has been to Cancun, Ensenada (sp?), etc., you know the usual hangouts where everyone vacations, However he has never heard of Rocky Point and obviously never been there.

Your Feedback is very much appreciated!
Thank you!!

I went there this past summer, and it was beautiful. There is not much night life, so if you’re going to relax, then this place is wonderful. I didn’t stay at the same place you are, I stayed at the Mayan Palace on a time share, and I had the time of my life! There are outdoor markets, restaurants, and I’m sure there are excursions, but it’s not at lively as other cities in Mexico.

The only thing I’ve ever heard about Rocky Point, MX, was from young lady I knew that worked at our plant in Mexicali. She said she couldn’t wait to get out of there as there was nothing to do.
It’s not on a Top Ten places to visit in Mexico, that I know of.
Of course, this topic is totally subjective. What’s one man’s junk is another man’s treasure sort of thing.
Probably because it is off the beaten path, there may not be a lot of places to visit, shop or dine as there would be in a popular destination. If that is what you’re after, then by all means go and enjoy yourselves.
I do know that several developers have been trying to build home developments and resorts there, they probably bought the land relatively inexpensively compared to other tourist destination locations.
We’ve driven down to Puerto Vallarta many times and although have stopped enroute at many places (Guaymas, San Carlos, Mazatlan, San Blas, Sayulita, etc) we’ve never been intrigued sufficiently to see what was in Puerto Penasco, as it’s known in Spanish.
Having said that, if you spend all your time in and around the resort, it looks fairly nice. So, why not? You sound young enough to take it as it is, whatever that is. It is a learning experience, for sure.
When you return, though, please don’t judge other Mexican places by what you find or see (or don’t see) there.
