I want to travel the world - is owning Timeshare the best way?
I have all sorts of must-see overseas destinations, like China, Japan, Egypt, Australia, New Zealand, India — as well as revisting much of Europe and South America. I have been told that serious world travelers — the ones who actually do it rather than just dream about it, are Timeshare owners. Do I need to buy a Timeshare — and how?

  2. x60157 Says:

Probably not. You are tied to the location where you own the timeshare. If you spend your money on hotels and cruises, you’ll see more of the world.

Maybe you should join the navy.

Not at ALL. Just find hotels or resorts that you would like to stay on. Most Timeshares dont have resorts everywhere you want to go, unless they are affiliate with each other.

Stay away from timeshaares. They are usually not available for trade when you want to go. Everyone wants to go to the resort locations the best time of the year. Some of these timeshare "resorts" are not as nice as a four or five star hotel.

Despite what the other say- I have a timeshare and I have traveled all over the world by trading my timeshare.

Some problems with timeshares is that many timeshares tie you into one location. And others, if you want to trade, do have a high "trading value"- this may make it difficult to get a condo/unit in the city of your choice.

Some good timeshares are Marriot, Embassy, Starwood, and WorldMark/TrendWest.

I have gone to Hawaii, Cabo San Luca (Mexico), Acapulco(Mexico), Cancun (Mexico), St. John (U.S. Virgin Islands in the Caribbean), London (England), Rome (Italy), Orlando (Florida), Stowe (Vermont), and we plan on being in Vancouver (Canada) for the 2012 Olympics. Other places I have been include Malaysia, Thailand, and Japan. There are timeshares all over… we have stayed in hotels that we would not have been able to afford had we not "traded" our timeshare. We plan on going to Asia and the South Pacific soon. We love Mexico so we go there a lot.

The only thing with the time share is you have to stay 7 nights in the same city. I do like the timeshare because most have their own kitchen and it is nice to eat in and save money.

So your question- do you need to buy a timeshare??? No- of course not. Will it make it easier to travel and see the world??? Yes- IF you buy the right timeshare and do your research.

Feel free to email me if you have any questions. I know several people who have timeshare and I also know several people who bought timeshares they have been unhappy with. I can help you have any questions.

A good site for timeshare reseach is: http://www.tug2.net

Make sure your timeshare trades through:
    http://www.rci.com
    http://www.intervalworld.com

These are third party companies that help timeshare owners "trade" their week at their resort with owners of rooms at other resorts.

If you look at their websites you can see there are resorts all over the world. The websites have logins- but you can view all the resorts without one.

    Good Luck!!
