I Love Mexican Vacations
Vacations in Mexico remain one of the best travel deals available.
Is there absolutely any way that I can travel to Mexico with an expired passport?
A family emergency has occurred down in Mexico. I NEED to travel to Mexico City as soon as possible, but my passport recently expired. I wanted to know if there was absolutely anyway that I can travel with this expired passport. Is there a temporary permit, visa or anything that i can obtain from the passport agency. I really need to get over there as soon as possible. Thanks.
No, but in an emergency situation you can get a passport renewed in a day. See the information on the State Department website here: http://travel.state.gov/passport/npic/npic_898.html

You need to contact the embassy to get a special dispensation. Don’t even think about travelling on an expired passport.

I don’t believe you can, as it is a legal requirement to have a passport. You may be able to call them and explain the situation and they can possibly extend your passport, or give you a temporary one. You can find more information on http://www.direct.gov.uk/passports
You can also do the fast track service, which costs more, but you can get your passport the same day, however you need to make an appointment to do this.
Good luck!
