Italy travel: The ruins of Pompeii, pretty much as they were on 24 August, 79 AD. This was a thriving city one day, and a few days later, it was buried under tons of ash, many meters deep . In this segment, our Perillo Tours Familia walks around the Basilica, the most imposing of Pompeii's public buildings. According to the tour guide, the diameter of the supporting columns indicates that the roof was probably 30 feet high!
